Some wall street, and housing experts, think we may have actually hit bottom in our new economy---sort of a Chinese/French model---growth at any cost, along with extra time off for the Postal Service.
But, where is Congress? Why isn't President Obama pushing harder and publicly for Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, to get their act together.
Housing, medicine, main street, cities and states, need a big push, yesterday, not tomorrow.
I could care less that there is some "Pork" in the billions of dollars of legislation----"let there be pork," as long as it pays people to work and give retirement and health care benefits.
It would be really nice, for our major, credible newspapers, such as the Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, to track special interest lobbyists and how they are shaping the new trillion dollar legislation. It's almost as if the great reporters and columnists and editors, have forgotten about how these groups, behind the scenes, use their power to either circumvent new laws, or in the case of the medical industry, actually hurt and sometimes kill their constituents. There are numerous stories of people being kicked out of their health insurance, just at the time they really need it. How are these powerhouses approaching Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
We need more disclosure...not less. We need to start spending those federal dollars, already.
