On the 27th lead change of the game, the Oregon State Beavers, beat Vermont, during the last couple of seconds of the game.
It looked like the Beavers were going to blow it, when they were two points ahead with about 5 minutes left to play. During their next 5 possessions down the court, they couldn't buy a point, and in fact lost the ball 4 of their last 6 attempts.
Stanford will visit Gill Coliseum on Wednesday to play Oregon State in Corvallis, Oregon.
Its a good thing that basketball is played indoors, because while the Bay area of California is beautiful, right now....the Beaver State, had a brushing of snow, the other day, and will probably be cold and wet on Wednesday.
The brother-in-law of President Obama, Craig Robinson, was going to be happy with just one PAC-10 victory this year, after taking over for an Oregon team which did not win one game last year.
The coach suprised everyone with 6 conference wins, and has extended his(Beavers) winning ways into the end of March.
The CBI may not be the NCAA, or NIT tournament...but a post season win is a post season win, and Robinson's Beaver nation, have strung two in a row.
Calvin Haynes posted the only 2 point shot in Overtime, and it was enough to give the Beavers the victory.
Even with Spring Break, over 4,000 excited Oregon State fans screamed their team to victory.
For the first time in 16 years, during the season, the Beavers beat Stanford at home and away.
Whether they can beat their PAC-10 rival, during the last week in March, will be a real test for Oregon State and may give us a little insight into the 2009-2010 season.
